Buying Collections FAQ
What do you consider Damage?
- We are very picky when it comes to damage. Any type of crease, scratch, dent, or scuff could be considered damage. We also know that older Pops may see some wear on them and depending on what it is it may not be considered damaged but would only be considered in good condition.
Why can't I just bring in my collection?
- We are a small business and do not have many people working at the store at the same time. Most Times it is just 1 person but the owner (Chris) is the only one the buys the pops and he is not here all the time. When you only have a few Pops (10 or Less) it can be done without an appointment but with large collections it takes time to go through them, look them over, and price them. If Chris is the only one in the store and customers come in then the collection would have to wait therefor the person selling the Pops would have to wait longer as well. (We always recommend calling us before bringing in any Pops to make sure we can get to them that day and the owner Chris is at the store.)
- We are not a Pawn shop. For insurance reason we can only keep so much cash in the store. If you bring in a large collection we may not have that cash on hand to pay for that collection.
- Transporting Pops multiple times can increase the chance of damaging the Pops. If you bring them in and we can not agree on a price then you would have to transport them back home. Or if we can not go through the collection right then you would have to bring them home and then back again.
- If your collection consists of mostly all commons Pops it may not be a collection we are looking for. By filling out out form and letting us know what you have it can save everyone's time by letting you know if we are interested in the collection and what we would pay for them.
What do you pay for Pops?
- It really depends on the Pop and the price of the Pop. We do not pay full retail or PPG price for any pops. We pay a percentage of that, depending on the Pop. The more the Pops is worth the more percentage we can pay. We do get Pops directly from Funko as well so we can not pay more for a Pop that we would pay if we order it from Funko.
Will you let me know if you are not interested in my collection?
- We go through all the submissions we receive at the beginning of the week for the previous week and select what collections we are interested in buying. We then price them out and send out estimates. Then if any of the estimates are not accepted we move onto any other collections that we have left. We try to email out estimates with 14 days of receiving the submission sometimes sooner. But with all the submissions we get in a week we can not email everyone that we sent us a submission that we decided not to buy. So if you do not hear from us with 14 days chances are we are not interested in that collection at this time.
Do you buy Damaged or Out of Box Pops?
- Yes we buy those as well, but we pay a very small percentage of the value for those. Since most collectors are looking for in the Box Pops in good condition, damaged and out of box Pops do not sell as quickly so we pay a lot less for these.
How long does it take to go through the collection and get paid?
- It depends on the size of the collection. A few Pops takes a few minutes but larger collections can take upwards of a couple hours. We go through each Pop, look them over, and compare them to the list you sent us for accuracy. If any of the prices change due to damage or inaccuracy then we have to give you a new estimate. The earlier in the day we can schedule you to bring them in the quicker we can get through them. The store gets busier in the afternoons and with more customers that can cause delays in getting though the collection. This goes the same for Fridays and all day Saturday. You are more then welcome to drop them off and come back when we are done processing the collection as well.
How long is my estimate good for?
- All estimates are good for 48 hrs. once we send you the estimate. This does not include the scheduling time. So if we send you an estimate on Monday and we do not hear back from you until Thursday then that estimated would be void. But if we hear from you on Monday but can't make it in until Thursday that is fine. But if you do not show and then contact us a week later to decide to sell again that estimate would have to be redone.
How accurate does my list need to be?
- We price your pops based on your list. Some Pops have variations, different stickers, and different boxes. These variations can be a big difference in pricing. If we have to assume what Pop you have we will pick the lowest price one to add that one to the estimate. So the more accurate you are the more accurate the estimate will be.
What if I decide to keep certain Pops after I sent you my submission?
- We look at all the different Pops you submit and decide if that collection has Pops we are wanting in it. Buy removing any Pops from the list after the estimate has been sent, may cause us to decide not to purchase the collection at this time. So we suggest to be 100% sure on what Pops you are wanting to sell before sending us your list.
Do you buy anything other then Pops?
- At this time we are only looking to purchase mainly the standard 4" Funko Pops. We understand that some other sizes may be included in collection and that is fine we will take larger Pops as well if they are included in a collection. As for other items at this time we do not buy anything but Funko Pops.
